Large-scale Russian Assaults Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced problems to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults succeed nights of air raids in the region, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were bracing for further attacks.
